Curated Italian Wine Pack - July

July calls for wines that travel — from Sicily to the Julian Alps, from the hills of Sardinia to the ancient soils above Verona. Here's what I put in this month's pack.

Four wines. Four regions. All off the beaten path.

We put together wines that most people walk right past — and that's exactly why they're worth finding. A bright, fruity white from a small family estate the Madonie Mountains of Sicily. A Sauvignon Blanc grown in the shadow of the Julian Alps, where the cool mountain air does something to that grape you won't find anywhere else. A Cannonau di Sardegna — ancient, sun-drenched, surprisingly fresh, a blue zone wine — from a tiny producer in the hills above Oliena. And a single vineyard Valpolicella Superiore from Ugolini, grown in 300 million year old fossilized sea shell soils above Verona.

No big brands. No filler. Just small family producers who've been doing this the right way for generations.
