In particular in the Avellino Province of Campania, Fiano becomes an ageworthy white wine that can outlive many reds. It's volcanic soils from neighboring Mount Vesuvius causes the grape to develop high acidity for aging and complex layers flavors that evolve with time. A true Fiano di Avellino doesn't get really good until its at least 3 years old and cage up to 10 years.
