Barolo 2019 Annunziata single vineyard cru — 1,200 Bottles
You drive down from La Morra just as the evening mist starts to cling to the vines. The old evergreen cedar trees stand tall at the edge of the vineyard, watching as it has for centuries. At its feet, the Annunziata cru stretches out—vines first planted in 1964, replanted in part in 2010, still whispering to each other across generations.
This is not a vineyard you forget. Perfume drifts even before the fruit hits the cellar. Roses, violets, and truffle. Power wrapped in silk.
The 2019 vintage was generous and pure. Long fermentations in barrel, and 4 slow years in French and Austrian oak. Bottled by the moon. Only 1,200 bottles exist.
Pour a glass and it does not rush. It unfolds. First red fruit, then darker layers: cherry, tobacco, leather. The tannins grip, then release, like a hand you want to hold onto longer.
You could wait a decade, two, more. Or you could drink it tonight, while the cedar still stands, and taste what the monks once called “the vineyard of light.”
Not available everywhere. Only here. Only now.
Imported direct from La Morra, Italy.
