Duca di Dolle Estate in Valdobbiadene, Veneto
Duca di Dolle - Prosecco Superiore in Valdobbiadene
In the heart of the Prosecco Superiore hills, nestled in the charming hamlet of Rolle, stands the Duca di Dolle estate—a place where history, poetry, and winemaking intertwine. This land, once a serene 16th-century monastery, has long been a haven of artistry and tradition, its vines tended with care over generations.
In the early 1900s, Nino Mura—a man as lively as the hills themselves—took over the estate. Known as “Duke” for his lordly flair, he hosted gatherings of poets, intellectuals, and friends who fell in love with Rolle’s charm. Among them was poet Andrea Zanzotto, who, inspired by the landscape’s beauty, renamed the village “Dolle” and called it “a postcard sent by the gods.” Thus, the estate became known as Duca di Dolle.
Today, Duca di Dolle is more than a winery; it’s an oasis of Italy’s heritage. Producing only 65,000 bottles annually, each wine speaks of Rolle’s ancient vines, steep slopes, and enduring beauty. Visitors find themselves transported, savoring the taste of a place that has celebrated art, history, and life for centuries.
